Meet Captains, Mike & Alyce

“I wanted freedom, open air, and adventure. I found it on the sea.”

— Alaine Gerbault, French Sailor

.

Captain Mike

USCG Captain 100GT Masters Inland and near coastal (200 Nm) with sailing and towing endorsements. ASA sailing credentials 101 to Advanced Coastal Navigation and Heavy Weather Sailing. Over 40 years of experience on the water, primarily power in the earlier years. Being a motorhead, motorcycles and power boats were his passion. Nearly halfway through his boating career monohull and catamaran sailing vessels took over. Standing at the helm and being able to “cut” the engines when those sheets start pulling you it is a magical feeling. We sail live aboard vessels but sometimes a little scoot on the 16ft. Hobie Cat is a ball. Like riding a Go-cart. He holds a BS in Industrial Technology, he is now a retired teacher from an engine repair program that includes marine diesel and gas engines. He is still a teacher at heart and will gladly share with you the sailing experience.

Captain Alyce (Alie)

She grew up with 3 older brothers, lake boating with an occasional fishing trip out of Rockport and Gloucester. Alyce is an excellent cook with years of home cooking plus restaurant/bartending experience and is willing to make any of your favorite recipes or cocktails. She will also show you the ropes (rode) of anchoring or hooking the mooring ball.
